The college team came out on top 91.1-85.0. Ashburton College won a tight sports exchange with Rangiora High School yesterday winning seven of the 15 disciplines tested and drawing another two. The college hosted badminton, senior netball, rugby, junior soccer and shooting, while teams traveling to Rangiora competed in basketball, equestrian, golf, squash, senior soccer and junior netball. The girls' badminton team won their doubles 2-0 and drew the singles 2-2 while the A netball team had an easy 34-11 win and the Bs a narrow loss 22-27. The Year 10 netball teams drew 28-28 and the Year 9 clash was won by Rangiora 38-25. Rangiora won the golf 3-2 and the girls' rugby 65-5, while Ashburton salvaged pride with a 4-3 win in squash, and comfortable wins for the shooters and the equestrians 121-97. The college basketball A team went down 61-93, while the Bs won 55-26. The soccer ended even, the boys drawing 3-3, the junior boys' clash won by Ashburton 4-3 and the girls by Rangiora 6-3.
